About Aubrey

Aubrey Hinton received her Master of Advanced Studies in Marriage and Family Therapy from Arizona State University, and completed a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Family and Human Development at Arizona State University. She is licensed by the state of Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Services to practice psychotherapy as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. In addition, she is a board approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health.
Aubrey has formal training in EMDR therapy and EFT couples therapy, and is continually engaged in educational training and opportunities to learn more. Her experience and additional training has developed a strong foundation in understanding the role of traumatic stress in a whole person's health and wellness, and how the bond between partners in key relationships can impact an individual's overall experience, outlook, and ability to tolerate distress.
Aubrey approaches the therapeutic relationship by working with each client to develop a unique treatment plan to address their specific needs, using a client centered lens with an integrative treatment approach. She examines all aspects of a client’s perspective and experience including the systems that impact them, and works to treat the whole person by assessing and addressing all the parts that make up a whole person (mental, emotional, physical). This approach helps to inform recommendations to engage all the parts that can facilitate wellness.
She has practiced in several different settings including private practice, non-profit community outpatient clinics, foster care licensing, and family court services, and  has also had many opportunities to work with people from a broad array of backgrounds and experiences.
Aubrey is the sole proprietor and owner of Maple Ash Counseling and Wellness, PLLC, and provides psychotherapy services under this business name.
